Last weekend I was kindly invited by the Beyond Color team to attend their 3-day event in Paris. Credit photo Flavien Bellevue
This first edition of the Beyond Color expo has targeted all women from 7 to 77 and all ethnicities.
I point the ethnicity factor out because to be honest it was multi-racial, you could find anything for any type or skin or hair. But I would say the main target was black women, which is okay because it’s such a huge market and finally you can see that french brands are taking this into consideration.
I remember going to the US like 4 years ago and going crazy on how they had a different sections for black, asian and caucasian women. In France I had to go to specific stores to get my products and you can see that in the last 4 years they made big efforts on that. Still it’s not as much as the states but you notice the changes.
The event was very complete they had conferences, work-shops, fashion shows, hair shows and all the brands exhibited from Beauty, Hair, Health, Fashion and more (that were more focused on selling)
It was a great opportunity for local and foreign brands to show their goodies. I was expecting they would give lots of samples to try the products but since a lot of the brands were really young I guess they could’nt afford all that.
I attended a conference with the Fashizblack team on the New codes of black beauty which was really interesting they had good speakers and I’m currently wrinting an article on that subject for AfrokanLife (I will post the link when it’s up)
Here are some pictures I took there ! Hopefully I will be back next year!
Getting my hair done by the L’Liss team
I tried the L’Liss flat iron on my hair it was amazing! They use nano ceramic technology and it burns less hair that regular irons. You can tell the difference! Also my hair was sleek and shiny after using it.
Hand-made pearl necklace from TCHENKO by the lovely Aimee Djimi really cute for summer!
